During language arts time, our class has done an excellent job of working on staying focused during Read to Self time, and we have worked hard to order, name, and write the ABC's. This week, we learned all about the letter Aa, and words that begin with A. We also talked about fall, leaves, and what happens to the trees during this season. The kids finger painted fall trees, and the final products turned out great!
This week, we started to use markers (I am sure you saw the numerous drawings they made during free choice time - markers are just so fun =] ), and we used instruments to play along to the song of the week. It was another great week of Kindergarten!
There are several important events coming up. Please read all the way to the end of the post so you are aware of what's happening in the next two weeks!
Tuesday, October 27; Thursday, October 29; Thursday, November 5th
If you do not remember when you signed up for your conference, feel free to check via the Sign Up Genius link here, or to contact me. I am looking forward to talking with all of you!
We will be going to Westwood Hills Nature Center for our first field trip next week Tuesday. The kids will be outside for the majority of the time, so please make sure they have weather-appropriate clothing. Srta. Joyner's class will be joining us in the morning, and we will be gone from about 8:45am - 10:45am. If you are interested in joining us as a chaperone, please contact me directly.
Our Fall Party this year will be on Friday, November 6th from 1:50 - 2:50pm. Parents are welcome to attend the party if you wish. =] Our classroom's room parent is helping to plan the party, and will be sending out a link via email for a Sign-up Genius so you can volunteer to provide supplies needed for the party.
Angela Rasmussen (Ben's mom) is our room parent this year. If you have not shared your email with her yet, please do so by contacting her at:

Things to remember: * Headphones ~ If you have not yet sent headphones to school for your kindergartener, please do so as soon as possible. Thank you! * Who is Special project ~ Please don't forget to send your child's Who is Special project to school. We have started to share these stories with the class, and I want everyone to be included. The kids love sharing their stories with their friends! |

If you would like your child to retake their school picture, please let me know. If you already ordered pictures, and want them to be retaken, please send back the pictures you received in your child's folder. The photographer will ensure you receive the correct photo package (of the new pictures) that way. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
