In math, we talked a lot about 2D shapes. I challenged the kids to find shapes in our classroom and to make shapes with their bodies. They used stencils to create scenes and objects using only shapes, and I was amazed by their creativity and flexibility! We also practiced 5-groups, graphing, telling math stories, and simple addition.
When we went to the Makerspace on Wednesday, we made snowman slime - the kids loved it! It came home in a plastic bag, so check your child's backpack if you can't find it! In art, the kids made cardinals with a birch tree background, which turned out great! In computers, they were able to explore more of the winter websites (found under the vocabulary tab on the ABC part of the site). We ended the week with the winter party - thank you to everyone who helped out!
Here is the snack calendar for January. Remember, there are only 24 kids in our class, and a serving size is half cup (not very much). Thank you for helping our class to make healthy choices!
