This week, we practiced counting and recognizing numbers 1-15, creating ABAB patterns, making graphs, and being able to distinguish between things that are different or the same. We focused on rules and routines, differentiating between uppercase and lowercase letters, recognizing letters in the alphabet that are out of order, writing the ABCs, and Tucker signing.
We also learned about main characters. The book ¡No David!, by David Shannon, was a fun way to emphasize a main character, as the kids could read right along with me. We learned some new songs, danced, and painted self-portraits, which will be hung in our room for the remainder of the year. On Friday, all four Kindergarten classrooms got together to watch their teachers preform the story of La Mariquita Malhumorada (The Grouchy Ladybug) by Eric Carle - the kids had a blast!
Here are some pictures from the week - enjoy!
