We continued our study of paper and wood by predicting and observing results of two experiments with paper. We drew on and folded various types of paper, to see which types of paper were good/bad for writing on, and which were easy/difficult to fold. It is always fun to see them get into a scientist mindset. We also had four options for talleres that had to do with paper: paper collage, paper maché, making a paper box and paper weaving.
On Wednesday, we celebrated the 100th day of Kindergarten! The kids were very excited, and all of the lessons in the classroom revolved around the number 100. In the morning, the kids began their day by making Día 100 crowns, and then they rotated through 6 stations - building a cup structure out of 100 cups, creating a design using 100 pattern blocks, racing a partner to 100 by rolling dice, finding the number 100 in a number search, putting the numbers 1-100 in order, and use daubers to create art with 100 dots. The day was filled with spontaneous counting to 100 and cheering every time the word cien (one hundred) was said. That afternoon, we were lucky enough to see the school play Tut Tut!

In case you misplaced the paper, I have attached a copy of the sight words below. You can also practice them online by going to the kindergarten websites, clicking on the "El alfabéto" page. Use the "ABC's y letras" dropdown menu to click on "Sílabas y palabras" or "Palabras" for more practice. Happy reading!
