We made some adorable poppies in art this week to celebrate spring! They will be up in the hallway soon. We also talked about the power of our imaginations. We read the book Sirenas (Julián is a Mermaid in English), talked about the importance of being true to ourselves and our own likes/dislikes, and made a class book about things we imagined ourselves being.
In math, our focus centered around both 3D shapes. It is very tricky for kids to distinguish between a circle (flat) and a sphere (had volume), so if you could help reinforce that at home, that would be great. We had fun estimating how many cubes fit into different-shapes cylinders, comparing shapes, finding shapes, and sorting them. We also continued to practice addition and subtraction stories.
