This week...
Thursday will be "El día de sombreros" (Hat Day)! Funny, silly, big, small, any kind of hat is welcome! Just please make sure that your child can easily see while wearing the hat.
On Tuesday evening, from 6:30-7:30 pm, the PSI PTO invites all parents to a presentation about the Responsive Classroom methodology. All teachers at PSI use the Responsive Classroom approach to help students succeed both academically and socially.
I highly recommend attending this free presentation. The file below includes more details, as does the PSI parent website.

Starting on Friday, I will be sending home 1 or 2 pages of homework weekly. The homework will be on blue paper, and is intended to reinforce what we are doing in class. Please help your child with the activities. Students can turn in their homework any day during the following week. Thank you!
And finally...
We are so lucky to have Srta. Valencia working with us in kindergarten this year! Srta. Valencia is from Madrid, Spain, where she graduated with degrees in Spanish, English, and Religion.
A few fun facts about Srta. Valencia:
Favorite MN food: corn dogs!
Family: One older brother
Great idea: Princess and Prince Day was her idea!
Something she's learned in MN : To ride a motorcycle
What she does on Mondays: She teaches a dance class
She didn't expect to be working in kindergarten when she came to Minnesota, but she has found that she enjoys the kindergarten energy. She brings a great energy and enthusiasm to all she does!
