In Makerspace, we started exploring the Dash robots. The kids had a great time directing the robots to spin around, flash lights, and make fun noises. The next time we use the robots, the kids will try to get them to complete simple challenges.
And so we begin the final quarter of kindergarten. If it seems that the year has flown by, it's because it has. It does every year. Each day in kindergarten is filled with activity; counting, singing, pretending, painting, reading, learning to be friends, speaking Spanish, and more. The final weeks of kindergarten are an exciting time, filled with even more growth. Your children will continue to improve their emerging reading skills, as well as apply their knowledge of letters and sounds to writing. Spanish vocabularies will grow as we explore the world through our studies of animals, plants, and the weather.
We had an art lesson with Sra. Bruns about shapes and color - they learned how to make different tints with water colors and their final products are neat! We ended the week with the friendship party -- thanks to everyone who came to help.
Next topics of study: Animals and Weather
To compliment our study of animals, we will be traveling to Gale Woods Farm for a field trip on Tuesday, April 23.
