In language arts, we focused on the letter Tt. We kicked off the week with a drumming circle. The kids enjoyed beating out rhythms on the drums in Srta. Lamb's classroom. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos! They also learned to draw some very cute turtles.
We have been working on differentiating between uppercase and lowercase letters, and we have started to put vowels together to read syllables.
In math, we practiced writing the numbers 1-5 correctly and neatly, learned several pumpkin dice games, and learned about 5-groups (6 is 5 and 1; 7 is 5 and 2, etc.). We started using a new tool called a rekenrek.
This week, we also continued reading "Who is Special" stories, which the kids love. Send yours in when it's ready. We ended the week with our fall fiesta. Thank you to those of you who were able to come - the kids had a great time!

Throughout the upcoming week, we will be doing activities and learning new words related to apples. To help us with this, please send 1 or 2 apples of different colors to school with your child by Tuesday. ¡Gracias!
Parents who will be chaperoning, we will be gone from about 12:45 - 2:45 pm. Please be at school before then if you plan on riding the bus with the kids.
