It was a group effort to create a fort large enough for the whole class. It was great to watch the children work together to design the fort and determine best how to build it with sheets of fabric, clothespins, and some rope. Some thoughtful problem solving and teamwork happened when pieces of the fabric fell. The reward was getting to play board games with friends in the fort!
la fresa (strawberry) la familia (family) frío (cold)
la flor (flower) feliz (happy) las formas (shapes)
la foto (photo) la foca (seal) el fin (the end)
We also learned words that begin with the letter Vv. A poem about a cow (vaca) prompted a lively discussion about cows and farms. I grew up on a dairy farm, and so was able to answer questions about how cows are milked and where the milk goes. (Thankfully, google helped me out with some photos!) The photo to the right, however, is one of my two brothers that now operates our family farm.
Several students were surprised to learn that chocolate milk does not, in fact, come from brown cows!
Other Vv words:
verde (green) violín (violin) ventana (window)
vestido (dress) veinte (twenty) vaso (a drinking glass)
I hope you all enjoyed a relaxing Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends.
