At this point in the year, students begin to learn vocabulary even more quickly! During November and December, we will focus on emotions, family, food, and clothing words.
On November 3, Súper María and Sra. Reichert came to teach a lesson about race. The objectives of the lesson were that all kids develop a positive racial identity, to appreciate the diversity of skin tones within our classroom, and to normalize conversations about skin color. The kids were so engaged in the lesson, and together we made a beautiful piece of art with all of our different skin tones. Súper María and Sra. Reichert will return in the future to continue the great conversations.
Thanks to all of you for taking the time meet with me for conferences last week.
