The kids created a class graph about which type of apple - red, green, or yellow - they liked the best. Other activities in math included writing numbers, recognizing and naming numbers out of order, and 5-groups. We also painted and wrote about apples. We used the words grande (large), mediana (medium), pequeña (small), verde (green), roja (red), and amarilla (yellow) to describe the apples. We wrote a class book called "Los números del otoño" (The Numbers of Fall). Everyone chose a number and drew that many apples, pumpkins, or leaves to make their page.
We had a lesson with Sra. Moore this week, and we learned all about a new superhero - Mighty Upstander. Mighty Upstander helps remind kids to stand up for others, to lead with kindness, and to be inclusive.
There was no new letter of the week. Instead, we reviewed Ss, Pp, Mm, Tt, and the 5 vowels. We started connecting one consonant and one vowel to form a syllable. New centers include weaving, sewing cards, writing numbers, forming letters with beads, as well as other fine motor skill activities.
