We also used apples in math last week to work on classification, sorting, and making a graph. The kids created a class graph about which type of apple - red, green, or yellow - they liked the best. We read a book about the life cycle of a pumpkin and, we learned to draw pumpkins, apples, and leaves. Other activities in math included creating patterns, writing numbers, recognizing and naming numbers out of order, and 5-groups.
We had our last lesson with Sra. Gregor, and we learned all about the Unthinkable Rock Brain. We frequently use Space Invader, Glassman, and Rock Brain to remind kids about expected behaviors.
Thank you for taking the time to come to conferences last week. I enjoyed meeting with each of you.
This week in Kindergarten...

day for teachers
We will go outside for recess every day, unless it is raining or bitter cold. Please send your child with hats and mittens now, and snow pants and boots when we get more snow. I have two additional requests:
1. Please label your child's clothes, especially jacket, snow pants, and boots.
2. Please help your child to practice getting their snow clothes on by themselves, including zipping and buttoning. This will help us to get ready more quickly.
Thank you!
