We compared quantities by using the words "más" and "menos" after creating graphs. We again used these new words in an activity with playing cards during zoom classes. Next week, we will make another graph using the data from a Seesaw lesson. Students were also introduced to 10-frames, a tool that we use to group dots and to develop automaticity when counting.
Other lessons included drawing and writing about pumpkins (calabazas) and drawing people after reading a story called "Todos somos iguales. Todos somos diferentes." In this story, a kindergarten class illustrates the ways in which they are alike and different from their classmates.
We continued our phonemic awareness and phonics work with the letters m, p, and s. We also started forming syllables by adding the vowels to those 3 letters (ma, pe, so, etc.) We will introduce and practice more consonants in the upcoming weeks. To reinforce these letters, we sang songs, played games, wrote the letters, and did some guided drawings of related vocabulary.
