The PSI Leer-a-tón!
PTO Literacy Night ~ Tuesday, October 13 ~ 6:30-8:00 pm ~ PSI gymnasium
Join us to listen to author Stephen Shaskcan sing songs and tell stories to kick off the PSI Leer-a-tón (Read-a-thon)! Bring a blanket, and get 40 minutes for your reading calendar!
Leer-A-Tón Packets will be going home with students on Wednesday! Keep your eyes out for this valuable and detailed information in your child's backpack. Your child will receive a packet with the instructions, a reading calendar to record their minutes, and a pledge sheet if your family will be collecting funds. The reading goal for each child is to read or be read to for 40 minutes every day. This is one of our school's most important fundraisers. Thanks for participating!
Don't forget that in the PSI Media Center, we have a Scholastic Book Fair on
October 20 - 22 from 3:00 - 8:00pm!
We continued to work on recognizing letters, producing both the letters' sounds and the letters' names. We have also been writing both uppercase and lowercase ABC's and writing our numbers from 1-31.
We read a story about similarities and differences, and then modeled our own drawings after those in the book. We outlined and painted the people that we drew.
We have been learning how to play the games on our classroom ipads. On our Friday afternoon walk, we went on a color search. Talleres topics this week were making music, free choice art, and a painted pumpkin scene.
