In math, we practiced writing the numbers to 20 and worked on sharpening our subitizing skills - the ability to see a small number of objects and know how many there are without counting. For example, four dots in a square, such as on a die, are always four. This is a concept that strengthens students' math skills. We will work on this in a variety of ways throughout the year.
Otoño (autumn) is another new vocabulary word. We created fall-themed items during our time in Makerspace. Unfortunately, due to some misbehavior by a group of students, we were unable to go on our nature walk on Wednesday. Hopefully, we'll be able to go out as a class and do some exploring next week.
Also next week, we will be reviewing expected school behaviors: following directions, listening to teachers, group, circle, and line spot expectations, and walking in the hallways.
