This week we focused on the routines in our room, reviewed our classroom rules, and reminded everyone that at school, we speak Spanish whenever possible. Starting next week, there will be a weekly school-wide contestant for speaking Spanish. Teachers will be listening for students who speak Spanish consistently outside of their classrooms.
We continued to practice sequencing skills, using the story of Ricitos de Oro y los Tres Osos (Goldilocks and the Three Bears). We even put on a play! Several students used a lot of Spanish -- enjoy the photos! In addition to sequencing, we practiced writing skills this week, especially focusing on the phrase "Me gusta..." (I like...).
In math, we reviewed number partners (5=2+3 or 5=4+1. etc.), 5-groups (5 is 5 and 0, 6 is 5 and 1, etc.), counting to 30, and graphing.
